Professional Rates
The standard fee for a self-pay session of counseling is $125 and $90 for Biosound Therapy. The cost of a same day counseling appointment is $130. Fees and self-pay rates are discussed at the time of scheduling. A reduced rate or sliding fee scale is available upon request with income verification. Please note that reduced rates are given on a limited basis.
Payment
Cash, Visa, Master Card, Discover and checks are accepted for payment. Also, FSA and HSA cards are accepted but please check plan for approved expenditures.
If you anticipate becoming involved in a court case, I recommend that we discuss this fully before you waive your right to confidentiality. If your case requires my participation, you will be expected to pay for the professional time required even if another party compels me to testify.
Insurance
Please be aware of the risks and benefits going through your health care coverage for therapy services. I and other therapists who accept insurance coverage are required to give you a diagnosis code when they bill your insurance company. Depending on your situation, your privacy is less protected when going through your health care coverage.Prior to your first mental health appointment, I strongly encourage you to check your mental health coverage with your insurance carrier. Please check your coverage by asking the following questions:
• Do I have mental health benefits?
• What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
• How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
• What is my mental health deductible and has it been met?
• How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
• Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Currently, I am accepting Anthem/BCBS. Coverage will depend upon your insurance plan. I am out-of-network for many insurance companies. If your plan offers out-of-network coverage and you have met your mental health deductible, my services will be covered at a certain percentage depending on your plan. Heartstrings 411 will be paid and you will be reimbursed thereafter. Payment for services are collected at the time of service, including co-pay. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I ask that you provide 24-hour notice. If you miss a session without canceling, or cancel with less than 24-hour notice, my policy is to collect the FULL amount. It is important to note that insurance companies do not provide reimbursement for cancelled sessions; thus, you will be responsible and the card you have on file will be charged.
